Daniel Thornton, a financial advisor with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, joined Concord Wealth Partners in the fall of 2020. A graduate of the University of North Carolina with both an undergraduate degree (economics) and a master’s degree, he left a large, traditional brokerage firm in order to gain the flexibility to better serve the individuals and families who trust him with their financial goals.
Daniel’s approach to financial management revolves around a relationship with the client which focuses first on clearly articulating the client’s goals, then devising a plan to direct investments towards achieving those goals, reevaluating at appropriate intervals to ensure the greatest success. His best days are those in which he can tell a client yes - yes, you can send your child to that school; you can take that trip; you can buy the new house; you can file those retirement papers. Those are the days the planning and discipline culminate in enriching, real life events and experiences for his client. That is the kind of relationship he wants to foster with his client; one which recognizes the impact of financial goals on your life, and the importance of having someone you can trust to help make those goals possible.
He makes his home in Crozet, VA, with his wife, Amy, and three children. He is active in Portico Church, an avid college sports fan, and spends as much time as he can wakeboarding and boating on the lake. He serves his community in youth sports arenas as a board member, coach, and official; by raising funds for and helping organize the Freedom 5K; and by lending a hand with Samaritan’s Purse.
